Judges for the Jane's Air Traffic Control Awards 2018 have shortlisted entries and allocated categories .
LONDON – IHS Markit (Nasdaq: INFO), a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, today revealed the shortlisted entries for the Jane’s ATC Awards 2018 .
“The shortlist for the 2018 ATC Awards reflects the spirit of collaboration and innovation in the air traffic management (ATM) community, not just among air navigation services providers but also airlines, airport operators, regulators and government ministries,” said Ben Vogel, editor of Jane’s Airport Review by IHS Markit.
“We look forward to announcing the winners during World ATM Congress, when the aviation sector has the chance to applaud major achievements in making airspace safer, more efficient and greener,” Vogel said.

Nominations are assessed by a panel of judges from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Eurocontrol, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Association (IFATCA), Jane's and the SESAR JU.
The judges award points for entries that meet the following criteria:
An improvement in safety, capacity and efficiency that is quantified
A customer assessment of the performance of a product or service
A new concept that delivers measurable benefit
Activity which goes beyond the scope of normal operations by an organization or individual
Collaborative activity that results in cost savings, sharing best practice and improving safety
Innovation in any area of air traffic control
