Doug was appointed as CEO of Unique Fabricating in September 2019. He brings more than 30 years of leadership and operational experience with a relevant track record of success in high volume production environments.
From 2007-2019, Mr. Cain served in a series of positions with increasing responsibility for the Mubea Group, a global market leader in the development and manufacture of automotive suspension, powertrain, and body components with innovative features that reduce vehicle weights, improve performance, and help protect the environment by lowering CO2 emissions. Most recently, Mr. Cain served as CEO of Mubea North America where he was responsible for the activities of 13 sites in the U.S. and Mexico, including manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and engineering.
Prior to Mubea, Mr. Cain served in a variety of financial and operating roles for Alcoa Fujikura, a telecommunication product and service company. He holds an active CPA license.
Brian was appointed CFO of Unique Fabricating in April 2020. He brings nearly 15 years of finance and accounting experience including controllership, financial reporting, internal audit and public accounting. For the last 18 months, Mr. Loftus served as the Corporate Controller for Wabash National Corporation, a publicly-traded leader in the design and manufacturing of engineered solutions for the transportation, logistics and distribution industries. Prior to Wabash, Mr. Loftus was the Corporate Controller for Horizon Global Corporation, a publicly-traded designer, manufacturer, and distributor of towing and trailering equipment. Mr. Loftus has also held various positions with TriMas Corporation, a diversified industrial manufacturer, including Controller for TriMas' former subsidiary Cequent Performance Products, Inc., Segment Financial Manager, and Corporate Audit Manager.
George was appointed Chief Operating Officer in January 2022 after joining Unique Fabricating as Director of Engineering and Operational Excellence in September of 2021. From 2000 until 2021 Mr. Taylor worked at Mubea Inc., an international partner to the automotive industry and an innovative lightweight specialist for high-strength spring components and related products. During his 21-year career at Mubea, he served in several positions of increasing responsibility, most recently, as General Manager of Body Division NA, overseeing a team of more than 200 associates and $200 million in annual revenue. Previous positions at Mubea included Sales Manager of Flat Products NA, General Manager of Transmission and Disc Springs. He joined Mubea from Cincinnati Gear Company where he began his career as an Applications Engineer before being promoted to Industrial Enclosed Drives Sales Manager.
George has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from the University of Cincinnati.
Adam was appointed Director of the Transportation Market team for Unique Fabricating in August 2020. In his current role, Adam is responsible for leading the Sales, Costing, and Development Engineering Teams. He brings nearly 20 years of leadership experience in Engineering, Sales, and Business Development. Adam spent 12 years with Mubea, Inc. where he held leadership roles in Engineering, Program Management, Account Management, and Business Development. Prior to joining Unique Fabricating, he held the position Director of Sales for the US entity of Thomas Magnete, a supplier of solenoid-driven pumps and valves, where he was tasked with developing entry into the North American transportation market.
Adam holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Western Michigan University.
Bryant was brought in to manage the Evansville location in August 2018. Once the Evansville location was shut down, in November 2019, and consolidated into the Louisville and Lafayette Plants, he became the location manager of the Louisville operations. Bryant took on the role of Director of Unique’s Appliance Market in August 2020.
From 2016 -2018 Bryant worked for GT Technologies, a global leader in design, development and supply of performance-critical valvetrain components for a full range of gas and diesel engines. Bryant started in an engineering support role and was rapidly promoted to production superintendent, overseeing all day to day production activity.
Before working in the automotive manufacturing industry Bryant spent several years as a materials engineer, developing production processes, for a Chinese company which now manufactures Hydrogen Fuel Cell systems for fleet vehicles.
Tim was recently appointed to this position to support pursued growth in RIM manufacturing. His entrepreneurial spirit and 26 years of manufacturing experience has been essential in many positions including plant manager, operations manager and site manager for locations in Michigan and Queretaro, Mexico.
Tim was retained to continue management of the Concord facility after it, (formerly known as Great Lakes Foam Technologies), was purchased in 2015 of which he was a past principle owner. He holds a business degree from Western Michigan University.
Tom was appointed the Purchasing Director of Unique Fabricating in January of 2020. He has over 20 years of purchasing and leadership experience in the Automotive, Aerospace, and Heavy Duty Trucking Industries with PACCAR, Boeing, and most recently Tenneco. Mr. Charnley served as the Global Director of Purchasing with Tenneco for the Wiper Division selling OE and Aftermarket wiper systems under the brands ANCO and CHAMPION in NAFTA, EU, and China. Tom holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering and an MBA from Michigan State University.
A lifelong entrepreneur with over 40 years of expertise in Human Resources and Business Development, Mertz earned a BA in Business Administration from Franklin University, completed the University of Georgia/Sherpa Executive Coaching program, and was awarded a Certificate in Health and Wellness counseling from the State University of New York Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
Since joining Employers Resource Association in 2013, Mertz has facilitated Leadership Development training sessions at over 150 organizations and has worked with more than 5000 participants.
Mertz also founded The Palmis Group, LLC; an executive leadership and corporate health coaching firm, and is the founder of Mertz and Associates, a HR and career consulting firm.
Before forming The Palmis Group, Mertz was president of Remedy Intelligent Staffing, and a founding partner of The Kreller Consulting Group and Kreller Business Information Group.
Mertz started his career at Dun and Bradstreet and progressed through various levels of sales management before leaving in 1989.
Mertz has served on the Northern Kentucky Workforce Investment Board, has been a past board member and Chair at NKY SHRM, as well as a Regional Workforce Development Consultant at Gateway Community & Technical College.
Additionally, Mertz served as an adjunct faculty member at Gateway Community College fulfilling the role of Achieve Global Leadership Development training facilitator and instructor.
Mertz holds both SPHR and SHRM-SCP accreditations in Human Resource Management.
Stokes was promoted to Director of Information Technology in January of 2020, following a track record of successful software deployments at Unique Fabricating. Stokes combines a background in Software Engineering with a people-first leadership style. Current responsibilities include assisting business units with technological pursuits, improving the operational efficiency of systems and processes, and enabling others to succeed. Stokes holds a BSE Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
Juan Lozano, was appointed as the Director, Mexico Operations of Unique Fabricating in June 2020 reporting to Doug Cain, President & CEO. Juan has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing and operations leadership. Juan’s previous experience includes working at Alcoa Fujikura in multiple operation roles for over 10 years and at Mubea for 3 years in a Site Manager role. Most recently, Juan was a General Director of Public Works and Transportation in for the Apodaca Government.
Juan has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Autonoma De Nuevo Leon (UANL) and a Masters in Business Administration from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM).
Lisa was appointed Location Manager of Unique-Intasco Canada Inc in April 2019. She brings more than 30 years of operational and manufacturing experience.
From 2009 – April 2019 Mrs. LeGras served in various operational positions with increased responsibilities within Unique-Intasco Canada Inc.
From 1985 – 2009 Lisa served in various operation roles with Windsor Machine Group a privately-owned company that designs and manufactures custom head restraints and armrests globally for the automotive industry. During the majority of this time Lisa’s role was General Manager of the Strathroy Ontario facility.
